A horse comes to life in three-dimensional form once the artist has drawn the sketches and sculpted the animal's body to match the sketch. Most model horses fall into particular size groups. The largest being one that is about 9" by 12". The task requires many hours of hand sculpting the body, and even more hours meticulously adding fine detail work for an individual, unique horse. Then it is off to casting where the statue becomes a toy.
